Signing off (blog)

Week of 4/12-18

This week I spent a lot of time working on an article about the team's year. This article will be posted some time this next week. I have also been trying to get the team members to participate in thanking our essential workers during this time. Once I get enough pictures I plan to post with on all our media accounts this next week too.

Posts I've made this week

On Sunday, I made a simple graphic design post that said "Happy Easter Day". I posted it on the Instagram story and Facebook story.

On Tuesday, I posted another senior shoutout for our team member Kylie McEuen. This can be found on all the WT Equestrian media accounts.

On Friday, I posted pictures of some of the team members competing in the Buckle Belt Series at WT. The pictures (on the left) are all of the team members smiling, so I thought it would a good reminder that despite what we are going through, we must remember to smile. This post can be found on the Instagram.

On Saturday, I posted about NCEA Nationals. On April 19th 2018 the team, including me competed at NCEA D1 Nationals. To celebrate this I posted a few pictures on the Instagram and Facebook story of the team that competed and tagged the team members, most of which are alumni now. This story did well as many team members reposted and shared it.

Personal Reflection

I was elected by my team as the WTAMU Equestrian Media Representative, which turned into an internship. I am so thankful for the chance to run the media accounts and complete this internship. I believe that WT Equestrian is one of the most successful teams at WT and they deserve the credit for it. And this is what I sought out to tackle with my internship. The team has now gotten more recognition from WT Athletics and fans! I am proud to say that I have significantly increased the followers on the Twitter account and Instagram. I have also increased the number of likes on the Facebook page and I have increased overall engagement with the accounts.

This will be the last blog of my internship, but stick around. I may continue to write blogs and I will continue to write articles on this site. Throughout the summer I will be continuing to post on the WTAMU Equestrian Social Media accounts and I even already have a few posts planned out.

Next year I will be a senior and I am looking forward to having one more successful year! Stay safe and go buffs!
